10 Jan Recient 2022, carbonic maceration for a limited edition of 1,300 bottles
Tradition has it that, after the grape harvest, the first wine of the year is uncorked in the third week of November. For our winery, this wine has a name: Recient 2022, a tribute to the know-how of our ancestors and a way of updating this custom that has been so deeply rooted for decades.
Recient 2022, from Bodegas Dominio de Berzal, is a young red wine made by the traditional carbonic maceration method, very fruity and pleasant on the palate, of which a limited edition of only 1,300 bottles has been produced.
For its production, we have used grapes from a centenary vineyard called “La Salmuera”. Its coupage is composed of 90% Tempranillo grapes and 10% Viura, which gives it maximum fruitiness.
The grapes are harvested by hand and, once in the winery, the whole bunch of grapes is put into the vat. After alcoholic fermentation, which takes 10 days at temperatures not exceeding 26ºC, the wine is pressed and undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
It has a bright red colour with violet hues on the rim and a medium-high robe. On the nose, fruity aromas of red berries emerge and, after swirling, it develops floral aromas, light hints of roses, which intermingle with the aromas of sour redcurrant, fruits of the forest and liquorice. The attack on the palate is silky and warm. The palate is marked by red fruits, well balanced with soft tannins and perfect acidity.
We recommend pairing with appetizers, rice dishes, grilled fish, cheeses, white and red meats.
You can buy it at a price of 9 euros in our online shop.
